Brenda Logsdon, CPA

Brenda Logsdon has worked in public accounting with specialization in taxation since 1975. She has significant experience in tax strategy planning regarding mergers and acquisitions. She serves as practice partner-in-charge of income, gift and state taxation. Brenda provides planning and consulting services for clients in a variety of industries including not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions, wholesale and retail distribution, manufacturing, medical practices and real estate development companies. She also provides tax planning for complex corporations, partnerships and trusts.
In addition to her CPA designation, Brenda holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in business Administration/Accounting from Missouri Southern State University and a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
She is a regular contributor to local business journals and newspapers and has made presentations to organizations such as the Institute of Management Accountants, American Society of Women Accountants and Ozarks Public Television.
Brenda is past president of the American Society of Women Accountants, a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Her civic activities include the junior League of Springfield, Missouri, Inc. Greene County Estate Planning Council and Leadership Springfield. She also serves on the boards for Springfield Little Theatre and Discovery Center of Springfield.

What drew you to your area of expertise?

My brother in-law talked a lot about accounting and I took a course and decided to major in it.
What is your favorite event/moment at the Whitlock Company?

Our after tax season party is a lot of fun for our staff and spouses.

The Sound of Music because I like musicals
If you could live during any other period in history, when would you live and why?

I like all the current conveniences that we have so I’m not sure I would like to live when there weren’t washers or dryers.
What book are you reading right now?

The book club I’m in picked the Team of Rivals, a book about President Lincoln
Are you a cat person/dog person/neither and why?

I like smaller dogs
Where would you like to travel and why?

France, because of the culture and the museums.
