Joseph D. Page, CPA, CFE

Joe Page is partner in charge of audit services for clients in fields such as nonprofit, manufacturing and distribution, electric utilities and construction. He has been involved in public accounting since 1990. His expertise includes auditing and accounting, fraud examination and information systems consulting. Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Wichita State University. He earned his Certified Fraud Examiner designation in 1999. He is active in professional and community organizations such as the Missouri Society of CPAs, American institute of CPAs and the Association of Fraud Examiners.
Joe serves as Treasurer for the Urban Districts Alliance in Springfield, Missouri, is a Leadership Springfield Alumni and a member of its placement committee, Treasurer of the Springfield Southeast Rotary Club, member of the Springfield Catholic Schools Finance Committee and former treasurer of the Springfield Jaycees.

What drew you to your area of expertise?

I took an accounting course in high school that I really enjoyed and never considered anything else afterwards.
What is your favorite event/moment at the Whitlock Company?

I always look forward to our after tax season party when everyone can forget about the stress of our busiest time of the year.
What do you hope to achieve at The Whitlock Company?

When I retire (a long time from now) I hope that I can say that I have helped all of my clients in some way and that the firm is as respected as the day I started.
What word would you use to describe The Whitlock Company?

Energetic.
What is your favorite movie and why?

National Lampoon’s Vacation. It reminds me of most of my recent family vacations (except for the aunt that died).
If you could live during any other period in history, when would you live and why?

I can’t think of any period in history I would want to have lived through. I would rather see what the future looks like.
What book are you reading right now?

I am not currently reading any books. I do most of my reading in business publications and on the web.
Are you a cat person/dog person/neither and why?

I am a dog person. Cats don’t fetch.
Where would you like to travel and why?

Anywhere warm.
